It is really an honour to be asked to host anything. I consider myself very lucky to have been given the opportunity to host two @tenovuscancer Lovelight concerts this season.

They hold so much meaning and relevancy to those affected by cancer and although the concerts are a way to get into the festive spirit, there is a poignancy that not everyone who we wish could be there are.

It’s a delicate balance to strike and I hope I did the sentiment justice on both occasions.

Take this opportunity to not only think about those who you’ve lost, but to better understand those around you right here and now. You’ll treat yourself better for it too.

I loved hosting @tenovuscancer ’s Lovelight Christmas Concert in Carmarthen last night.

The performances from Carmarthen Male Voice Choir, Stagecoach Performing Arts Carmarthen and Tenovus’ own Sing with Us choir were outstanding - technical problems and all! Stagecoach ended up doing a a Capella version of Hallelujah and it was sublime!

One person I’d like to mention is the fantastic Sara Pilkinton. She gave me my first opportunity to host an event and here I am 8 months later having presented a number of events for Tenovus Cancer Care and now, having sung a duet at one of these wonderful events, with Sara!

Yesterday I was dropped from the football team due to strength of the squad and because I live ages away. So I didn’t travel.

At the same time I’d been asked if I would help get some carol singers together for something the BBC we’re doing today instead.

As I’m not travelling to football I might as well say yes. Gets me up in the morning at least!

Three singers in total and the director telling us what’s going on and what to expect when the production coordinator shouts over “Gregory is on his way”

We were only going to sing for @gregoryportermusic in the centre of Cardiff!

Say yes to things, even if you don’t have all of the answers. You just might end up in a vocal trio singing for Gregory Porter to be aired on BBC 2 on Christmas Day!

I had the pleasure of presenting a Lightning Talk at the recent Wales Public Health Conference 2018 presented by Public Health Wales on Tenovus Cancer Care’s ACTivate Your Life - Affected By Cancer Care service.⠀

The service started in March earlier this year and we’ve and we’ve already seen over 60 people attend at least one session and 16 people complete all four ACTs to a course.⠀

My favourite finding: attendance at a ACTivate Your Life - Affected By Cancer course increases overall satisfaction of life by three point scores out 10.⠀
